The (missing) 
reviews...
A little known, but rather annoying feature of YELP is it review deletion algorithm, which makes an irritating habit of removing
user reviews it doesn't like. As far as I can tell it has to do with how often the reviewer participates in the YELP community and
also whether or not the business is a YELP sponsor (paying YELP for favorable listing placement etc. You can read this article
if you would like to learn more.
I am NOT a YELP sponsor (in fact I don't advertize anywhere!) although I do appreciate their site as it has helped me grow my
business (I also write reviews on it) Since my first review at the beginning of 2008 I have more than 50 written for me by clients
who were happy to share their experiences. - Most of these have since disappeared.
Since discovering this and realizing that I was losing valuable client feedback I have copied and kept reviews from YELP whenever
a new one is posted. This page is where you can still read what some other Brides & Grooms have said about me and my work.

I had to take a few moments this evening to express my sincere appreciation and heartfelt applause for the wonderful work
you did for Meg/Greg's wedding. Today Greg's mom had an open house to introduce the new Mr. Mrs. to the swim team
parents/swimmers of their swim club. During the entire open house, your video played as well as the CD of the 1,100 pictures
you took.
I don't know how I can express to you how I feel about your work that day. It exceeded any wedding photography I have
ever seen before. You captured not the bride/groom/ceremony/reception - you captured the day in all its excitement,
beauty, and emotions. I felt as though no dialogue was necessary as you could actually read the dialogue through the faces
you captured. I can't even imagine how hard you must have worked that day. The bride/mirror was so unusual - so dramatic
....and the evening Chicago pictures were beyond beautiful....they could be used to sell people on visiting Chicago or having
weddings in downtown Chicago.
If there is anything I can do or say to promote your wedding business, please let me know. The tip certainly fell short of
what you deserved for your work that day. I will make that up to you soon.
Peter, in conclusion, some people perform a job for a fee - you didn't do that for our daughter's wedding. You gave her
all of your creative talents without ever focusing on you. It was as though you weren't even there. You captured reception
pictures that showed pure joy - moments to be shared and remembered always.

Working with Peter was an awesome experience. Very professional, yet fun. He rolled with our crazy ideas and improved
upon them, and then made them better with some great photo effects after the day.
He posted our photos on a web site so that relatives could choose their favorites and then even gave us the "negatives" which
is practically unheard of in the wedding photo business.
I would highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for any kind of quality photography, wedding or otherwise.

I am writing a review a year after my weddding! I just go soo busy with life and pregnancy, but I feel compelled to write
this review because I really loved my wedding pictures. Peter did an awesome job capturing the best moments of my
wedding. I wanted a photo-journalistic style for my pictures and that's what I got. Peter was very personable and easygoing.
You really won't regret booking him. The only thing I regret was going through a company, as I did not know he works on his
own as well. This guy is the real deal!

I love how when I give 5 stars it says "Woohoo!" because I think that sums it up.
We considered two very different types of photographers for our wedding. We started by talking to Bella and getting the
corporate kool-aid. Its sort of like ordering at cheeseburger at McDonalds. You know what you will get, but that doesn't
make it taste good.
We then went to Peter. Peter lives right down the street from us which was a plus. We met for coffee and we knew
immediately he was the one. He put us at ease right away which was important, and we knew the man who would be
taking our wedding pictures and his style.
Peter did a wonderful job at our wedding. He was everything we hoped he could be and more. He took beautiful shots of
my wife and I (no small feat considering I'm not exactly photogenic). Our family and friends are still raving about it!
And he was fast - we got a slideshow in a couple days, and our dvd with all the photos (almost 1000!) in a few more
Our friends who got married weeks before hadn't even seen a hint of their photos yet.
To go back to the earlier metaphor - why order McDonalds when you can have a good steak? Book him while you can!

Peter did an engagement session for me and my fiancee, and then shot our wedding as well. His photos are beautiful.
He is a real pro at making people comfortable, covering all the important people and scenes, and giving helpful
direction. We got a lot of compliments from our guests about hot much they liked our photographer. I have been
to a few other weddings, and I've yet to see a photographer or photographs who comes close to Peter. Photographers
are not all the same - Peter is exceptional. By the way, his pricing is very fair, and he doesn't have any of the red-tape
that some of the big companies have. We are 100% happy with our experience and intend to call on him again for our
next big event.

It's hard to put into words the fabulousness of Peter Coombs Photography. Like one of the other reviews for Peter,
I detest having my picture taken. I never feel comforatable and it shows in my facial expression. Peter somehow magically
made that all disappear. My wedding photos are absolutely amazing. I was so nervous to see the results and upon returning
from my honeymoon I literally broke down crying at the sight of my photos. I looked amazing (yes, I can say that now!)
and EVERYONE at my wedding looked so incredibly happy. People were laughing in every shot and I owe it all to Peter.
His personality and charm captured the hearts of all my guests and it shows on film. Half the time I didn't know he was
there yet he managed to catch every single good moment of my ceremony and reception. My guests loved him, we loved
him and I would recommend him to anyone who wants the best photographer for their special event.

From our first meeting through the (very fast) delivery of the final product, Peter performed far better than we could
have hoped. My then-fiancée and I were shopping for a wedding photographer, and Peter immediately made us feel
comfortable--incredibly important, as anyone who's been there knows. We honestly felt that we could trust him to get
the pictures we wanted. Moreover, his pricing is reasonable, if not cheap. Unlike most of the studios, he doesn't
nickel-and-dime you on prints; you pay for him to come and take photographs, and he gives you the pictures on a disc to
make prints as you will.
On the day of the wedding, Peter was totally professional and efficient. He kept everyone at ease for the posed shots,
moved quietly and discreetly during the ceremony for the candid shots, and kept the shutter going non-stop through
the reception. One week to the day after the wedding, we had our discs--with over 1800 pictures, not to mention a
slideshow! Now of course, quantity only really helps if the quality is up to scratch. Peter has an eye for candid
moments, and manages to catch them beautifully.
The sum-up of all this, as you may have gathered, is this: if you're looking for a photographer, hire Peter.

Peter shot our son's baptism and he was FANTASTIC!!! To begin, he was extremely affordable. He was punctual and
we liked him as soon as we met him. Our event was a Greek Orthodox Baptism - probably not the easiest event to shoot.
Peter really got in the action and got some great shots. The space was really tight to shoot in, but the photographs were
perfect - Peter did not miss a thing. We loved the formal staged shots and the candid shots almost equally.
We received over 600 digital prints, and we loved every single photograph he took. In fact, we get every photograph printed.
I would definitely recommend Peter for any event. His work was great, and everyone was pleased with the result.
We will definitely use Peter again.

We got married over two days this May, we just happened to be lucky enough to stumble upon Peter for our wedding
photography. We were looking for someone as excited as we were about our special weekend, and we couldn't have
picked anyone better than Peter! He was perfect for our group, and extremely patient through our chaotic schedule,
and he made us feel completely at ease all day. And he's pretty funny to boot!
So that of course only describes his temperament.... Besides that, Peter is of course an amazing professional with a
keen eye and great unconventional ideas. He was very proactive about finding the right locations for our photoshoot in
advance. Overall our pictures turned out even better than we had hoped.... and that's not just because my wife is
gorgeous :-) Our whole family can't stop raving about all of them!
One additional note... He also recommended a great videographer who was a perfect complement to him... ask him
for those details.
All in all, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Peter. I would recommend him to anyone for ANY type of event.

I had a hard time booking a photographer since I had to do it long distance from our home in Phoenix. We talked to so
many photographers over the phone and when I spoke with Peter, I had a good feeling he'd be the right fit for us. We
were right, Peter was fantastic. You couldn't ask for a better guy to pal around with on your wedding day. He's funny,
charming, and most importantly, he takes great pictures. Even with the rain, and other set backs of people not being
where they were supposed to be, Peter worked it all out. He even hooked us up with a great videographer, Brian
Babarik @ Novel Thoughts Productions. Neither one of us like having our pictures taken which always makes it hard
on the photographer, but Peter took it in stride and got us smiling and posing at all the right times. His candid shots
were awesome as well. He's a great find at a pretty darn reasonable price. We had a sneak peek slideshow in a
matter of days and all our photos were online within a week. I'd definitely recommend Peter... we loved having him
shoot our wedding day.

I've worked with Peter both as an actor and as a bride. He takes the publicity shots for several of the area theatres at
which I've worked, and was always very creative and easy to work with in that respect. Knowing that, my husband and
I booked him for our recent wedding. He did an absolutely amazing job. The photos were super original and he went
above and beyond what I imagined the duties of a wedding photographer to be. He was great with time management
and helped keep me on track, schedule-wise, without being pushy. He worked with us to fit our budget and I feel like
we got a really great deal. We've received so many compliments on our pictures...we almost have too many that we
love! Perhaps we will just wallpaper our apartment...

My husband and I chose Peter as our wedding day photographer and boy are very glad that we did. Peter was on time
and ready to go the afternoon of the wedding. He came up with some great shooting ideas that were very creative. We
were inside, outside, on a motorcycle : ) His personality rocked too. He was very fun and friendly and made us feel
very comfortable. I have been in weddings in the past where the photographers were late or weird or unprepared.
Peter was none of those things! He was able to recommend ideas but also was willing to do anything specifically that
we wanted to do. Peter got many awesome shots at the reception too! We returned from our honeymoon 9 days after
our wedding and Peter had sent us a slideshow of the highlights of the wedding to a very cute song - such a special
surprise! We watched it so many times because we loved it so much. We were able to send it to our friends and
family and they all loved it. That's something you don't get with the bigger photography companies. We received all of
our pictures just a couple of weeks after our wedding. We sent our links to guests and they are able to print their own
pics without having to buy crazy expensive prints from a photography company. To sum up, Peter was great. We had
such a fun time with him and he gave us exactly what we wanted out of wedding pictures. I would recommend him to
any friend getting married for sure!

My best friend, Nisha E. :), booked Peter for her wedding and loved him. We immediately booked Peter once we got
engaged and recently had our engagement pictures taken; they are wonderful! (We received the pictures in less than 3
days!) We are also getting married in Rockford, which is quite a ways away from Chicago, but Peter was willing to
make the trip out here in the frigid winter! I will update after the wedding, but even now I would recommend Peter to

Peter Coombs was awesome at our wedding earlier this month! He was cheerful and helpful and didn't try to run the show,
like some event photographers I've seen. His set-up and candid shots were all fantastic, and it was great to look through
all 1341 pictures that he sent us, in high resolution on a DVD. Yup! No proofs to pic from. We got everything within a
very short return time. Hopefully I won't be getting married again, but if I do, I'll be sure to give Peter Coombs a call.

Peter did our wedding a little over a month ago and we still just can't get enough of the pictures! He captured every
moment spectacularly -- looking at our albums really brings the entire day back to life. Our venue was pretty large
and we had a few costume changes -- Peter was running around back and forth making sure he really got everything.
It was clear that he was working hard the entire day. I don't know if he even took a moment to sit down!
I can't say I know much about photography, but I will say that Peter does a great job paying attention to the little
nuances of each photo, like lighting and space. He'll even set up shots that I never would have thought of, which all
turned out great. These are all things you really don't appreciate until you finally see all of your pictures in full
form.
What I also appreciated about Peter's work is that he is able to make everyone smile and look genuinely happy in
every picture, even the posed ones. I'd like to say that everyone was glowing just because they were at our wedding,
but I think Peter had a hand in that too. =) He really took the effort to get to know us and our families, which not
only allowed him to accurately capture our personalities, but also made everyone feel much more natural around him
as he was snapping their photo.
The last thing I'll say is about Peter's service as a photographer. Every email and phone call was answered almost
immediately, if not within 12-14 hours. He made it seem like we were his only client and would always give us full
attention. You can't ask for better service at any of the larger photography firms.
Thank you Peter for such a fantastic and successful day!! These are pictures that we will share and keep with us
forever -- they are exactly the way we want to remember this day for the rest of our lives.

Peter is a wonderful photographer! He did such a beautiful job with our engagement pictures. There are so many
great photos, it's hard to choose which is our favorite. He is great to work with... made us feel relaxed right away.

We were extremely lucky with our photographer, Peter Coombs. When we started to plan our wedding my mom and I
went to one of those silly bridal expo's and Modern Image Studios had a booth there so I signed up to meet with them.
We went to the studio to see some of the photographer's work and when we saw Peter's pictures we knew he was
the right photographer for us. I was a little nervous because we hadn't ever met with him in person but as it turned out he
couldn't have fit in better with our group. He made everyone feel comfortable and kept us all laughing the entire day. I never
felt like he was in our face and yet he captured EVERYTHING! Our pictures turned out FABULOUS, I have looked
at all 1200 of them 3 times already, I love them!! Thank you so much Peter for making our day so special!!

Prior to our wedding, Peter was very easy to communicate with and extremely responsive to any questions we had.
The morning of our wedding Peter jumped right in and made everyone feel at ease. As you can imagine, that is very
important for a bride on her wedding day. Not only were my husband and I extremely happy with him, but our parents
had nothing but great things to say about his demeanor and his work. He successfully captured the spirit of our day.
My husband and I had talked about having a videographer, but now we're happy we didn't spend the extra money
because Peter literally captured every moment. As we went through our pictures (which we were given about a week
and a half after our wedding) it was as if Peter had captured our day second by second. We got to relive our special
as we went through the photographs. It was if he was everywhere, all at once, while completely unobtrusive. He
captured great shots without us even realizing he was there. The pictures are beautiful and the "highlight video" was
an extra special treat waiting for us when we returned from our honeymoon. We definitely recommend Peter as a
wedding photographer and can't speak highly enough of his talent and performance. And above all, he was FUN!

My husband and I booked Peter for our wedding on 11/1/08. He was such a great guy to be around! He was very
sociable, funny and even helped the entire party stay relaxed and easy-going. Especially the bride to be, he had told
me months before to always remember to have FUN and not be worried about things it would make for great photos.
I always kept that in mind and I swear to you my wedding went PERFECT! I enjoyed every second and had sooo much fun.
Peter not only was personable but his work is fantastic. I love every single one of my photo's. They are gorgeous, funny,
classy and artistic. I was astonished that I recieved an email one week after the wedding with a link to see some very
special photos that I had requested be done. Two weeks after the wedding I got a CD/DVD with over 1000 proofs for
no charge. Peter did a free photo slide show for me and included one of our favorite artists from Ireland.

We booked Peter for our wedding in downtown Chicago on August 30, 2008 and I have to say that we couldn't have
asked for a better photographer. Peter has a great personality and he exhibits the perfect mix of professionalism and
control. Peter was very punctual and patient throughout the whole day. He was aggressive when he needed to be and
he made us laugh on numerous occasions. Peter is very creative and has a great artistic mind, which became apparent
to us once we saw our pictures. He didn't miss a shot during our wedding ceremony and reception and he took the
wedding party to several great locations…the pictures turned out awesome. We have tons of great pictures for our own
personal albums and picture frames, and we plan on giving a lot of other pictures to our family as Christmas presents.
I know that weddings are very special events, but I also know that they can be very stressful. One of the best decisions
we made with respect to our wedding was hiring Peter. He was so easy to work with and we really enjoyed working
directly with him. He really helped our wedding run smoothly and we received our pictures right when we got back from
our honeymoon. We would hire Peter again in a heartbeat. And in fact, we plan on working with him again for our next big event.

Peter was a perfect fit for our wedding party. He was fun, patient and very creative in getting us the best pictures on our day.
In addition, he was very personable and not invasive. Peter made sure to capture every special moment that we had
requested for him and he gave us additional ideas, some of which were photos we did not even think about taking. Our
family and friends can't stop talking about how AWESOME our pictures came out. Peter even sent us a little preview

Peter was very professional and helped us create some very unique photos. He sent us a slide show of highlights
a week after our wedding, which was a great surprise. Peter even had an intern who shot photos for free, which we
received as well. He gives all of the photos on a DVD, which means that you are able to create wedding albums on-line
which are much more reasonable than the ones you buy through a studio. Peter was friendly, funny, and helped us
capture all of the memories we wanted. I would highly recommend him.

What can one say of Peter Coombs? Well, I got ridiculously lucky spending my wedding day with Peter. The only
bad part is now I have 1600 phenominal photographs to choose from for my album. I got more compliments on my
pictures than I did on my dress!! But the fun doesn't stop there! Peter suggested we do a "TTD" session. I said Huh?
It is such an awesome concept. Why pack your dress up and put it in a closet, to sit for eternity, since most likely
my daughter will not want to wear it? So, we did a trash the dress session. You pick a spot, where you would not
usually be wearing a wedding dress. And Peter takes over. I now have some of the coolest pictures I have ever seen!
Peter is so creative. He knows the perfect light, the perfect photo spot, the perfect pose. He is a pleasure to work
with, and makes anyone feel at ease. If you need a photographer, for anything really, you would be silly not to work
with Peter. Most people say, so now what do you do with your dress? Well, I get it dry cleaned, and either keep
it, or donate it to brides against breast cancer! Either way, I have this awesome experience to look back on and admire.

Peter is a total pro, he shot photography of my new baby boy and they are awesome photos! We had to work quickly in
order to get great shots, and he used both natural light and supplemented when the clouds rolled in so he had to
be quick to get the right light and the best shots! Everyone in the family is delighted with the photos and Iwould highly
recommend him. He got retouched photos to us very quickly as well!.

My (now) husband and I got married four weeks ago, and we were lucky enough to be able to book Peter to photograph
our wedding. As he (and everyone else who has been around me any amount of time) knows, I hate having my picture
taken. I'm uncomfortable in front of the camera, always dislike how the photos turn out, and really just do my best to stay behind
the camera rather than in front of it.
Well, I still don't love being photographed, but I love the photos that Peter took at our wedding. I actually look human
in them, and I owe it all to Peter. He spent the entire day with us, made us feel completely at ease (and not just us, but
all of our family and friends), and took over 1200 photographs. I'm having trouble narrowing it down to a small enough number to
include in my album because there are just so many to choose from. And, because I've seen what he does with Trash
the Dress after the wedding, I'm even considering hiring him to do that with me (yes...me...the one who hates to have
her picture taken.) My sister hired Peter to do Trash the Dress, and the photos make her look like a professional model.
Some of the pictures could be in a magazine. I'd pay anything to just have one picture of me that would look like that in a unique
(non-wedding) location.

I also found Peter through the reviews on yelp and my husband and I couldn't be happier with our wedding photos
He responded immediately to my first email and everything just got better after that. He was extremely flexible
with his time and offered many suggestions for us. He was professional, friendly, and really easy to work with.
Best of all....his pictures are amazing. He really knows how to capture the moment. He sent us a preview video
THREE days after our wedding with music, and it is absolutely wonderful. I think I've watched it almost everyday!

I came across Peter on Yelp and chose him to take our engagement photos based on the excellent reviews. Here is one
more. Peter has a wonderful knack for putting people at ease and taking excellent photos. He is able to capture a range
of emotions and produce the best photos. Even weather is no match for Peter as he braved subzero temps to get the best
possible pictures. Not only were the pictures great but we received them in less than 48 hours. If you are looking for a

Peter was one of the first vendors we hired. We met with a few photographers and both agreed that we liked Peter's
style and personality the best...he seemed like the best fit for us...and he was! He got some amazing shots...even had
to lay on the sidewalk in the cold for some!! He was a pleasure to work with and made everyone feel very at ease and
comfortable. He got us a "preview" of some of our pictures right away (as I'm sure he knows with weddings that the
bride is overly anxious to see how the pictures turned out!). And we got the rest of the pictures super fast, too. We couldn't

My husband and I planned our wedding in three weeks! After months of going back and forth about big vs. small wedding,
we decided that we just wanted to be married. Finding a photographer was important to me but I knew that on such
short notice, I may not be successful finding one. Then I happened upon Peter's awesome reviews and prayed he was available .
He was!! Peter responded right away and was always available. He was great on the wedding day and helped keep
me sane at several moments. His ability to capture the entire story blew me away. I can't believe one man can be in all those places
during the ceremony!
We received our pictures the following week and Peter even sent a video montage, which was amazing. The pictures went

Words cannot begin to express our utmost gratitude to Peter for being apart of our special day. It was a true honor to have
him with us to capture the amazing happenings of our wedding, and he possesses a gift that resulted in a truly endless amount
of pictorial memories. Peter somehow prevailed at gaining a picture of what seems like every scenario, from every which
way, seamlessly and almost as if he was invisible. He was able to engage every single one of our guests on a personal
level, and interacted with myself and now husband like old friends, yet never ceasing to be professional while still remaining
enjoyable. Thank you Peter for adding to the greatness that was our wedding day, and we will definitely be calling upon you
